Erasmus+ Participant – Becoming a Peace School
In 2022, I participated in the 'Becoming a Peace School' Erasmus+ project, which included my high school along with Romania, Slovenia, Wales, and Turkey. Between November 28 and December 2, 2022, we carried out the mobility phase of the project in Maribor, Slovenia. As a peacemaker, I represented my country, Turkey, and shared my views on the importance of peace.
I discussed what could be developed in my school to promote peace and highlighted the contributions of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Turkey, towards fostering peace. Exchanging experiences with participants from other countries, seeing different perspectives, and developing collaborative solutions was an unforgettable experience for me.
This Erasmus+ project helped me gain international experience and improve my leadership, presentation, and intercultural communication skills. Participating in the Becoming a Peace School movement strengthened my belief in peace and gave me the opportunity to work with young people from different countries toward a common goal.
