Erasmus+ – Breaking Stereotypes: Building Friendships | Bansko

I participated again as team captain in the “Breaking Stereotypes – Building Friendships” project held in Bansko. The project aimed to promote social inclusion, strengthen mutual understanding, and reduce stereotypes among young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Together with participants from different countries, we carried out dialogue sessions, teamwork, and collaborative activities. During this process, I was not only a participant but also one of the active leaders of the project. I took organizational responsibility for a large part of the program and led many sessions.
During intercultural exchanges, we had open and respectful discussions, especially about religion and culture. I explained Islam in detail to other Christian participants; we talked about common misconceptions and engaged in meaningful discussions that strengthened mutual understanding. These dialogues truly embodied the project's aim of breaking stereotypes.
The Turkish night presentation was once again led by me. Sharing our culture, music, and traditions was both enjoyable and a source of pride.
As team captain, I did not only represent the group; I also played a guiding, organizing, and balancing role. This second experience in Bansko further strengthened my leadership skills and once again showed me how transformative intercultural dialogue can be.
